Quilters Unlimited Celebrating 50 Years of Quilting

April 1 — May 19

The members of Quilters Unlimited, an all volunteer organization, are dedicated to its mission to "Preserve the tradition, culture, and history of quilting. Promote the knowledge and understanding of all aspects of quilting. Enjoy, rather than judge, each other's work." We are so excited to host this exhibit celebrating 50 years!

Fifty years ago a group of 16 ladies met at the Merrifield Village Apartments to quilt. Out of this informal assemblage, enthusiasm and plans were set in motion to organize a group that is now known as Quilters Unlimited. That group of initial quilters met at the Epworth Methodist Church on Sleepy Hollow Road in Falls Church. The Annandale Chapter of Quilters Unlimited still calls the Epworth Methodist Church its home. Quilters Unlimited has grown from its initial group of 16 ladies to nearly 1,000 members in 11 chapters across Northern Virginia.

We hope you will stop by to see this exhibit from April 1-May 19th. If you would like to learn more about Quilters Unlimited, you can visit their website QuiltersUnlimited.org.
